Strategic Partnership in the Healthcare Software Sector
Software providers medavis and epiNET are joining forces and will strengthen each other in the future. epiNET specializes in software for hygiene management in hospitals and laboratories and also stands at the forefront of its sector. Together, the companies seek to expand their respective market positions.
With more than 150 customers in the laboratory sector and 750 customers in the hospital sector, epiNET holds the leading position as a software provider for hygiene management in Germany. The company’s product portfolio is designed to support customers in analyzing, documenting, and monitoring hospital hygiene by linking and structuring electronic patient records with microbiological laboratory results. The solution also allows for the tracking of nosocomial infections and the reporting of antibiotic resistance to national and international healthcare networks. In addition, epiNET offers an extensive mobile laboratory management system for hygiene and water laboratories.
medavis is a leading provider of Radiology Information Systems (‘RIS’) and other workflow solutions for radiologists at over 900 locations in 20 countries. For over 25 years, the company has been developing customized, modular, and scalable software for hospital chains, radiology networks, radiology practices, and clinics and offers radiologists, referring physicians, and patients solutions for cross-site networking.
In collaboration with the founders and current shareholders of epiNET, who will continue to oversee business operations and retain a significant stake in the company, medavis and epiNET plan to leverage each other’s expertise to drive future growth. The companies within the Group will continue to operate autonomously and pursue a best-of-breed approach. Customers of the Group will benefit from an expanded portfolio and more versatile solution combinations, which are particularly valuable for the complex IT environments found in hospitals and clinics. It will also allow both companies to pool their strengths in the development of standardized interfaces, such as for the German telematics infrastructure or other hospital information systems, and thus further amplify their role as cutting-edge innovators within their respective market segments.
“We are pleased to have medavis as a strong partner at our side to better equip epiNET for future challenges. As a leading provider of radiology information systems, medavis contributes an outstanding network and expert knowledge in the national and international healthcare IT market to support the growth of epiNET and the further development of our already highly sought-after hygiene solutions in the future,” says Cathrin Groß-Davies, CEO of epiNET.
“epiNET is a valuable addition to the synava Group. Their strong position in hygiene management will enable us to deliver an enhanced range of best-of-breed software solutions to our customers in the healthcare sector going forward,” Jörg Dittrich and Elmar Kußmaul, co-CEOs of medavis, commented.
